Walls with a history
In a home that has been around for a few years, the walls tell a story. Layers of wallpaper on top of each other, holes from old picture frames, cracks that come back after every coat of paint, and plasterwork that turns out not to be so flat in the afternoon light.
Painting over it won't fix that. Having it re-plastered will, but that means dust throughout the entire house, a week of drying time and a hefty bill.
Renovlies is a strong fleece that we hang butt-jointed on the wall, so without any overlap. It smooths out small imperfections and keeps hairline cracks out of sight. After applying the latex, the wall looks as if it has been plastered, and you can move straight back into the room.
What we do in an existing home
- Remove old wallpaper. Renovlies must never go over old wallpaper, as it can come loose. So we strip that off first.
- Machine sanding and filling. Holes, cracks and old paint layers are all taken care of. In almost every home, this is necessary.
- Apply Renovlies. Hung butt-jointed, neat right into the corners and around window frames and sockets.
- Apply latex. In white or in the RAL or NCS colour of your choice.
- Ceilings and skirting boards. We can include a spackle ceiling in primer and latex, and we tape off or caulk and paint the skirting boards too.
No key date to wait for
With new builds we plan around the completion date, which is often months away. In an existing home we can start as soon as you are ready. That means we can usually get started sooner with an existing property.
Already living there? We cover the floor before we begin. Moving in? The best time is before the furniture goes in.
What does it cost?
An existing home requires more preparation than a new build, and that is reflected in the price per m². You receive a quote upfront with the price per m² and exactly what is included, so there are no surprises.
